Flashback: Dr. Forster, Gereon, and his brother have fled the press ball. Gereon accompanies Dr. Forster on his escape to Paris. During a stopover in Cologne, they experience a turbulent night during Carnival. In the morning, thanks to Gereon’s father’s intervention, the two fly to Paris as part of Adenauer’s entourage.
